Journal Entry#1 July 14 1789: Like other days, I went to big and beautiful, but strict and scary Paris Palace. I never seen a king or Queen walking around enormous halls. People I only saw in the palace were, gardeners, nobles, and peasants. Peasants always walked fast or ran, but nobles walked slowly with books or wines on there hands, and few peasants followed after them. I always worked quietly, and quickly and never went to restroom or never made mistakes. I really do not want to work in the palace, because the atmosphere in palace is cold and hard, but I have four people to feed, so palace is the best place to earn money. After I escaped from the cold and scary palace, I returned to my small store. While I was enjoying my little brake in my little store,Pierre Leroy came into the store and asked me to come over his house and fix his windows and table. He is my friend that I known for longtime, he also knew my father. So when he asked me to come over to his house to fix windows and table, I willingly went to his house. His wife greeted me with smile, and his children greeted me with hugs. After greeting, I started to fix his table and windows. Fixing windows and table took me about two hours. After I finished fixing windows and table, he took me to his wine brewery and he also gave me one of a famous wine that aristocracy and clergy use to drink. We sat and started to talk about financial problems, bad weathers, his sunk ship and the rumors about fall of Bastille and the mobs. While we were drinking wines and talking about Bastille, we saw angry mobs running, and screaming on the street with General's head on top of the pipe. Then Pierre saw his friend walking with the mobs, and dragged his friend into the shop, and asked him what was going on. We were shocked when we heard that the General was killed and battle was going on outside. Then Pierre's friend sat on the chair and started to talk how the Bastille was teared apart. We also heard that he(Pierre's friend)helped the mobs to steal cannons and weapons. We were scared and astonished of what we have heard from Bastien Armand(Pierre's friend). We kept talking about the great and horrific battle that took place in Paris. We talked and drink until the sun went down. I went back home when nobody was outside.

Like other days, I was going around the Paris and fixing windows, tables, doors, etc. Then I heard Louis XIV's execution from the newspaperman. I quickly packed up my tools and backpack, and told the owner of a house about the news, then he excused me from the work and me and my customer ran to the execution place. I was not surprised to see flood of people, but I was surprised to see Pierre, I watched the execution with him. The execution was horrible and disgusting. Louis XIV did not die easily. Big and sharp guillotine blade penetrated the head of Louis. So the guards went on the blade and jumped down as hard as they can. Finally the Louis XIV's head was cut and his regime had ended. Awful amount of blood was coming out from his open neck. Pierre went closer to the guillotine(blood)and took out his handkerchief and soaked it with the Louis's blood. We then headed to my house to have lunch. The memory of the execution was vivid. When I got home, I daydreamed for more than a five minutes. However, when somebody nocked our house door, I got out of my daydream and got back to the real world. I went out to the living-room and saw my friend Tristan Pasteur. For a moment, I forgot that I invited Tristan to come over to my place and eat lunch with my family. I welcomed him with a hug. When we sat down on the sofa, he asked me about the execution. I really did not want to recall the scene, but I eventually did. After a few second, I started to talk about the execution. "There was huge guillotine with sharp blade, and there was people even from other European countries to watch the one country's King execution. When the execution started, the bell rang three times, and there was dead silent. When bell rang three times, carrion crow from the entire Paris came to watch the execution too. The guard pulled out a knife and bang! The lope that was holding up the sharp blade was cut and the cold blade struck the Louis's neck, but his neck was too thick and was packed up with fats that the blade really did not penetrated his neck. The astonished guard went up on the blade, and jumped on the opposite side of the blade to proceed the execution. Louis finally died, but painfully. People who saw the execution threw their hats on air to celebrate the revolution and Louis's death. People were happy to see the execution, because one of their bad memory have been erased from the world". After I finished the story, I introduced Pierre to Tristan. Then we talked for few more hours with wine that Tristan brought. We had great time and we left the house to go back to work.

Like other days, I was fixing windows, tables, and doors. While I was fixing Mr. Plofett's house door, I thought to myself that I should get a religion, because everyone that I know had religion. So after a hard work, I went to small church and prayed to get the religion. I never closed my eyes when I prayed, because I did not know how to pray, then I saw Emmett Pierre, my best friend. Emmett Pierre was my friend since we first met in an elementary school. He was hard working guy who helped his parents farming. I was so delighted to see Emmett, because we never met each other for more than a decade. I quickly invited Emmett to my house and served light meal. We sat on a dinner table and started to talk about everything that happened so far in our life. Then the story turned around to revolution and rise of Napoleon. He talked about Napoleon's victory in Italy and war in Egypt. Then I changed the subject to peace treaty that Napoleon made with Austria, Britain, and Russia. I said, "I think most smart move that Napoleon made during this past years was making peace treaty, because he finally freed France from wars and suffers. The one who goes to war is people from third estate and by making treaty, he reduced a lot of burdens that third estates carried. I also want to admired the new banking systems and new tax collection method. Everything is so different and better than Louis's period. I wish Napoleon continue forever. All that battles, and revolution improved our life quality, thanks to those who led the revolution". After a long talk, we had lunch and went back to our work.
